Parades, trunk-or-treats and pumpkin festivals in 13 towns, all in one place

Between parades, trunk-or-treats and pumpkin festivals, there's something almost every weekend in October. Here's what's happening in each town this year, so you can plan around soccer games and still hit the good stuff.

Fairfield

• Oct. 25: Halloween on the Green, Fairfield Museum Commons, noon–4 p.m.
• Oct. 29: MAPP Team Trunk-or-Treat, 4–7 p.m.
• Oct. 30: Halloween Parade, Fairfield Public Library
• Oct. 31: MOMbies Halloween Performances, Fairfield Town Hall

Trumbull

• Oct. 18: Great Pumpkin Classic, Trumbull High School, starting at 9 a.m.
• Oct. 24: Nichols Halloween Parade, Starkweather House, 4 p.m., rain or shine
• Oct. 24: Car Show & Trunk-or-Treat, Bridgeport PAL Complex, Trumbull, 10 a.m.–3 p.m.

Westport

• Oct. 16: Trick, Treat + Eat, Wakeman Town Farm. A Halloween cooking program for kids ages 7–11, 4:30–6 p.m.
• Oct. 24: Halloween Spooktacular, Westport Weston Family YMCA, 3–6 p.m.
• Oct. 28: Children's Halloween Parade & Trick-or-Treating, Downtown Westport. Kids trick-or-treat along Main Street, then the parade heads to Town Hall and Veterans Green, starting at 3:30 p.m.

Wilton

• Oct. 16–31: Scarecrow Fest, Wilton Center, with creative scarecrows displayed all over town
• Oct. 17: Halloween Spooktacular, Wilton Family YMCA, 2–5 p.m.
• Oct. 17: Great Wilton Pumpkin Fest, Wilton Historical Society, 1–3 p.m.
• Oct. 24: Pumpkin Parade & Trick-or-Treating, Wilton Center, 2–4 p.m.

Ridgefield

• Oct. 1–31: Scarecrow Competition, Main Street
• Oct. 17: Halloween Window Painting, downtown, 10 a.m.–2 p.m. (rain date Oct. 18, noon–4 p.m.)
• Oct. 25: 123 Andrés: ¡No Tengo Miedo!, Ridgefield Playhouse. A bilingual family concert about bravery and friendship, followed by a costume parade.
• Oct. 31: Ridgefield Halloween Walk, downtown, 10 a.m.–noon
• Oct. 31: Ridgefield Police Trunk-or-Treat, Lounsbury House, 5–8:30 p.m.

New Canaan

• Oct. 16: Fall Family Fun, Waveny Park
• Oct. 18: Halloween Story, Craft & Art Exploration, Carriage Barn Arts Center
• Oct. 25: Halloween Block Party, Elm Street
• Oct. 30: Halloween Spooktacular, New Canaan Nature Center, 5:30–7:30 p.m.

Norwalk

• Oct. 24: Beasties & Besties Halloween Bash, Stepping Stones Museum, 10 a.m.–5 p.m.
• Oct. 27: Trick-or-Treat at Stew Leonard's, 4–5:30 p.m.
• Oct. 31: Trunk-or-Treat, Word Alive Church, 5–7 p.m.

Stamford

• Oct. 25: Halloween Candy Crawl, Stamford Town Center, 11 a.m.–2 p.m.

Greenwich

• Oct. 23: Halloween Happenings, Bendheim Western Greenwich Civic Center, 5:30–7:30 p.m.

Bridgeport

• Oct. 24: Boo at the Zoo, Connecticut's Beardsley Zoo, 11 a.m.–3 p.m.

Stratford

• Oct. 17: Social Circuit Trunk & Treat, Short Beach, 10 a.m.–4 p.m.
• Oct. 17: Great Pumpkin Festival, Boothe Memorial Park, noon–4 p.m.

Newtown

• Oct. 25: Trunk or Treat, 5–7 p.m.
• Oct. 30: Halloween Parade, 11 a.m.–1 p.m.

Easton

• Oct. 30: Trunk-or-Treat & Bonfire, Morehouse Fields

Times and rain dates can shift, so check with the organizer the week of. If your town isn't listed, the neighboring towns' events are usually open to everyone.
