1. Lake Compounce Amusement & Water Park, Bristol
Lake Compounce is the oldest amusement park in North America and home to Crocodile Cove, the largest waterpark in Connecticut. Highlights include the Lake Plunge slide, which empties directly into the lake, and a Wave Pool & Pirate Ship area. Children under three enter free.
2. Quassy Amusement & Waterpark, Middlebury
Quassy's Splash Away Bay waterpark features the BulletBowl, Freefall Extreme Bodyslides, and the Rocket Rapids Water Coaster. Its centerpiece is a massive tipping bucket that dumps more than 300 gallons of water over guests at regular intervals.
3. Brownstone Exploration & Discovery Park, Portland
Brownstone combines water play with adventure activities — ziplining, rock climbing, kayaking, paddleboarding, and cliff jumping — alongside inflatable water obstacles suitable for all ages. Ticket prices range from about $40 to $60 depending on the activities selected.
4. The Dinosaur Place, Montville
New England's largest dinosaur-themed adventure park pairs more than 60 life-sized dinosaur sculptures with the Splash Pad, which includes dinosaur-themed water cannons and dumping buckets plus a dedicated area for younger children. Ticket prices vary by age, and children under two enter free.
5. Ocean Beach Park, New London
Not a traditional water park, Ocean Beach Park still delivers on summer fun with a triple water slide and sprayground, plus a nature trail, amusement rides, mini-golf, a playground, an arcade, and an Olympic-sized pool.
